"Matt Held, a fine artist with a specialization in portraiture, has set out to paint 200 portraits of people’s Facebook profile pictures. It all started out as a skintone exercise for when he was painting a his wife’s Facebook photo. Shortly after, the “I’ll have my Facebook portrait painted by Matt Held” group was created and people from all over the world have joined with hopes of getting their photo painted. Matt says all of the fans and Facebook users create an endless amount of source material, inspiration, as well as an international network of influencers.
